Unprecedented energy efficiency and fire resistance: Purso’s new P94 EI30 exterior fire doors for northern conditions

The renovated, iconic Turku Scandic Hamburger Börs hotel relies on Purso’s aluminium building systems. In the hotel’s new construction, in addition to the new P94 exterior fire door, P50 L glass roof, glass facade and P80 insulated fire-separating doors, and interior glass walls were utilized.

Purso has launched new effectively insulated exterior fire doors. The sealing method of P94 doors is based on Purso’s successful LK78X system, and the doors are top class in terms of tigthness and usability.
– The new door model is the most energy-efficient fire-separating exterior door on the market. Designed for northern conditions, P94 saves energy during use and is an environmentally friendly solution for the entire long life cycle, promises Lauri Hautanen, Purso’s Key Account Manager for Purso Building Systems.

Effectively insulated fire door

The requirements for both fire safety and energy efficiency are constantly increasing, and Purso’s fire product family is growing along with the needs – with an unprecedented solution. The Finnish P94 exterior fire door completes the Purso fire product family.

– Fire safety is one the most important issues in building design. The doors and windows placed in the fire wall mainly have the same requirements as the wall itself. The polyurethane-based additional insulation used in the profiles of the new door works excellently both in normal use and in a fire situation, and no materials sensitive to moisture, frost or UV radiation are used in the door’s structure, says Hautanen.

The U-value of the P94 fire door is even less than 1.0 W/m2K. The doors can be easily connected to the Purso P50L facade system, and a wide range of ABLOY locks are available for the doors. The manufacturing of the door is made easier by, among other things, the new two-part glass fasteners, thanks to which the glazing and the installation of the sealing is much easier.

– The door’s profile structure with new thermal breaks is very energy-efficient, and the tightness and usability are top class even in the most challenging winter conditions. P94 profiles can also be produced from 100% recycled Purso Greenline aluminum, from Purso’s own remelt plant. Contact us and ask about our other fire products too, says Hautanen.
