World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2024
The UN World Day for Safety and Health at Work reminds us that everyone has the right to a safe and healthy work environment. How does Purso ensure the safety and well-beingof its employees?
Safety induction: everyone’s right and obligation
Each of our employees pays close attention to safety. Topics such as safe movement within the factory premises and the use of personal protective equipment are covered. Depending on the tasks, more detailed training is provided on the safe operation of various equipment and machinery.
The reception of our visitors also begins with a safety induction. Visitors are transported only along designated routes. The designated person responsible for visitors has undergone separate visitor training, with a special emphasis on safety.
Taking care of safety every day
At Purso, safety rounds are conducted regularly, with active participation from employees across different organizational levels, including top management. These rounds focus on observing workplace and surrounding area safety, as well as practical occupational health and safety measures. Additionally, we conduct weekly safety patrols as part of our routine, during which safety topics are discussed.
We encourage our employees to make safety observations and record them in an easy-to-use system. Observations related to occupational safety and suggestions for safety improvement are documented, and corrective actions are systematically monitored. All workplace accidents and near-miss incidents are investigated, followed by agreements on further practices and preventive measures, which are documented in writing.
Purso supports the well-being of its employees
At Purso, our employees have access to comprehensive occupational health services. Additionally, employees are encouraged to take care of themselves; shared benefits include, for example, exercise and cultural benefits. Our employees also have the opportunity to utilize the company bicycle benefit. Furthermore, we organize departmental and personal ergonomic projects, where individuals can receive personalized guidance on better ergonomics at work.
To support the well-being of our staff, we offer easily accessible mental well-being services. We provide financial support for quitting smoking. Office employees have the option to choose between a 37.5-hour or 40-hour workweek. Additionally, we are a member company of the Tampere Business Campus, offering our staff extensive opportunities for personal and professional development through TBC.
