Katajanokan Laituri
Katajanokan Laituri is an office and hotel building, showcasing nordic wood construction. The wooden element is covered with a custom-designed outer shell made of recycled aluminum by Purso. The building is the head office of Stora Enso, and half of it is occupied by a hotel.
“A double-structure on the facade with an outer layer of glass, aluminum, and granite that protects the exposed wood structures from the maritime weather connects the building to the wider cityscape and gives it a unique character that changes with the time of day and the four seasons.” (Anttinen Oiva Architects)
The project aims to reduce climate impacts over a long lifecycle and make the most of renewable resources and materials. That’s why Purso Greenline aluminium vas chosen for the outer layer of the facade.
